City's third pre-season outing turned out to be a largely forgetable event as they fought out a goalless draw against Dr Martens Western League club Weston Super Mare. With a hard uneven pitch not helping City's attempt to play football the game saw both sides defences on top, although they did both create a number of chances to win the game. The first couple of these fell to Weston after Kilgour got on the end of a Catley free-kick and King beat a couple of City defenders before firing across Mark Hervin's goal. The closest City came in the first period was a Scott Walker, back in the side after missing the Team Bath match, free-kick that narrowly cleared the home sides crossbar.

The interval saw Weston bring assistant manager, and City's record appearance holder, Dave Mogg on in goal and he showed he has lost none of his ability when he produced a stunning one-handed stop from Sam Allison. The striker also saw a couple of other chances go begging and City were almost punished for these missed in the closing minutes but Hervin blocked a Bevan effort with his legs. The same player also just failed to get on the end of ex-City midfielder Cox's low cross as Weston continued to match City but in the end both sides had to settle for a draw.
